The city of Chicago is home to many famous steak and chop houses. If you are visiting the city as a tourist or making a trip into downtown from the suburbs be sure to experience one of these mouth watering destinations. Here are a few of our favorites.
Gibsons steakhouse has an extremely outstanding reputation with some of it's strongest supporters dining and partying on location up to four times a week. While everything on the menu is sure to please, our suggested entree is the "Porterhouse Steak". Big and juicy served to your desired taste.
The atmosphere in this excellent restaurant is very calming and you will surely enjoy the decor with jazz music, vintage photos of star entertainers, elegant lighting and the occasional glow of flames from the open kitchen area. Our recommended pick from the menu is the "Filet Medallions" where you can choose the same or separate toppings for your three medallions such as: mushrooms, blue cheese, peppercorns....
Located in the Magnificent Mile shopping district Lawry's resides in the old McCormick Mansion. A beautiful English manor house setting. There is no way around it, if you visit Lawry's you intend to dine on "Prime Rib" served in various styles and cuts to your desired tastes. Along with your entree will come salad, Yorkshire pudding, mashed potatoes and whipped cream horseradish.
Smith & Wollensky
The restaurant is beautifully located on the Chicago River and offering spectacular views of the river and various city landmarks. We suggest the "Steak Au Poivre", a restaurant favority and featured recipe.
This fine establishment is located in the heart of downtown at 65 East Wacker Place. Famous attractions such as Millenium Park and Navy Pier are just steps away. Our suggested entree is the "Chicago Style Bone-In Ribeye Steak", but all items are sure to quench your desired tastes.
